The Frederick County Commissioners shot down a proposal by Commissioner John L. Thompson Jr., a Republican, to explore the financial and legal ramifications of the county seceding from Maryland to become its own state.
When Frederick Community College baseball coach Rodney Bennett assembled this year's schedule, he loaded up a slew of home games, most of which were against non-Maryland JuCo opponents.
