MYERSVILLE-- A Myersville woman was killed Saturday morning when the 2005 Kia Sportage she was driving went off the road on Rum Spring Road near Highland Road, northeast of Myersville, according to the Frederick County Sheriff's Office.
The crash occurred about 9:30 a.m. when, for unknown reasons, the Sportage, driven by Sandra Lee Reckley, 60, of the 10900 block of Rum Spring Road, struck an embankment and rolled over, according to the sheriff's office.
Reckley was traveling east on Rum Spring Road when the crash occurred. She was pronounced dead on the scene due to injuries she sustained in the crash, according to the sheriff's office.
Cpl. Jennifer Bailey, sheriff's office spokeswoman, said Saturday evening the deputies investigating the crash hadn't determined what caused the crash. The investigation is continuing.
Bailey said Rum Spring Road is a secondary road in a rural area, and it did not appear as though the road had any defects.
A phone call to Reckley's home Saturday evening went unanswered.
