FBI actions appear dubious
Originally published August 12, 2008

If, as printed in The Frederick News-Post, the computers were removed from the library two weeks before the FBI obtained search and seizure authority from a judge, any evidence that was recovered from the computers would have been inadmissible in a court of law.

What must be considered is there was information on those computers that was placed there by other citizens who have the right to believe it was not for public knowledge. If this is true, someone in the FBI needs to take Law 101 again.

By the same token if information from these illegally obtained computers is released to any media organization, the FBI should be open to a civil lawsuit by Bruce Ivins' widow. We are a nation of laws and, as such, the top enforcement agency in this country should be aware of this.
