Press needs to delve deeper into Ivins anthrax story
Originally published August 18, 2008

Even though I am not a member of the Frederick community, I do live nearby and have been following the story regarding Bruce Ivins and the surprising claim that he was the primary suspect ... a story which only appeared a few days after his death.

First, my sincere, sad, and deep condolences to his family, his friends, and his co-workers.

Second, I do not believe there is nearly enough evidence to convict this man of the horrific anthrax mailings.

Third, I truly hope that there remains some free press in this country that will step up to the plate to posthumously clear Ivins' name. It appears there is plenty of press that would posthumously convict him.

I have seen and heard enough lies from the current powers-that-be to retain a healthy skepticism regarding the circumstantial "evidence" that we've seen so far. May some dutiful and ethical and energetic member of the press finally discover the real perpetrators of the 9/11 anthrax scare letters.
