Frederick -- Police finished searching a drainage pond about 2:45 p.m. just off Danielle Drive, near the home where the bodies of four children and their father were discovered Monday. They didn't find anything. Two people with probe poles were in the pond about for about an hour, according to News-Post staff writer Sarah Fortney. Police were called about 3 p.m. Monday to 1252 Danielle Drive by a liaison worker from Hillcrest Elementary School, who went to the home when Elsa Rodriguez, 9 and Vanessa Rodriguez, 4, were not seen in school for several days. Police found the bodies of the girls, and their younger siblings — Angel Rodriguez, 3, who was commonly called Pedro, and Carena Rodriguez, 1. The bodies of the children were found in beds, covered head to toe in blankets in two bedrooms of the family’s townhouse. Police also found the body of their father, Pedro Rodriguez, 28, hanging from a yellow nylon rope off the stairwell banister. He did not leave a note.
The children’s mother, Deysi Benitez, 25, is missing.
