Frederick — Two weeks after police discovered the bodies of her four children and husband, the FBI on Monday issued a missing person alert for Deysi Benitez, 25. FBI spokeswoman Michelle Crnkovich said the FBI and Frederick Police Department jointly decided the international posting would be the best way the FBI could help the investigation into Benitez’s disappearance. Benitez was last seen March 18 outside her home at 1252 Danielle Drive, where her husband and children were found dead inside March 26, according to the Frederick Police Department. Autopsies revealed that three of the children, Elsa, 9; Vanessa, 4; and Carena, 1, were suffocated. Benitez’s son, Angel, also called Pedro, 3, died from blunt force trauma to the head. Police believe the children were murdered by their father, Pedro Rodriguez, 28, who was found hanging from a stairway banister. Crnkovich said the FBI is not otherwise involved in the investigation. The FBI listed Benitez’s aliases as Estela Sedillo (with birthdate May 25, 1978, different than her actual birthdate of Dec. 1, 1981), Deysy Benitez, Daysi Marlene Benitez, Deysi M. Benitez, Deisi Marlene Benitez, Rosi Chaves and Rosi Chavez. Crnkovich did not know where authorities learned of the aliases Chaves or Chavez, nor did Lt. Tom Chase of the Frederick Police Department. He said police haven’t received any significant leads since the first week of the investigation. “But when we do get a lead, someone diligently pursues it,” he said.
