Christopher Zieman, 35, of Chapel Hill, N.C. won the 2007 Frederick Marathon with a time of two hours, 27 minutes and 14 seconds. He finished about eight minutes better than the second-place finisher, Scott Paul Herrick, who crossed the finish line in Harry Grove Stadium in 2:35.42.
Zieman's time was 31 seconds slower than the course record, which was set last year by Michael Wardian (2:26.43). This year, Wardian finished third overall with a time of 2:42.21.
On the women's side, Jenn Shelton, 23, of Virginia Beach, Va., set a course record with a time of 2:53.42. She finished about 18 minutes ahead of Meg Lambke, who completed the course in 3:11.18.
Shelton broke Susan Graham-Gray's course time of 2:56.57 set in 2005.
