A Frederick man faces several charges including first-degree attempted murder resulting from the shooting of the mother of his two young children.An arrest warrant was issued for Lewis Donald Weedon Jr., 41, on Monday and served Tuesday, said Sgt. Jason Keckler of the Frederick Police Department. Weedon is being watched by correctional officers assigned to the Frederick County Adult Detention Center while receiving treatment at Washington County Hospital for a single gunshot wound to the head. Officers found Becky Lynn Wilkerson, 34, of Frederick , slumped inside her vehicle after suffering gunshot wounds about 6:40 a.m. Saturday in the 1700 block of Hillmeade Square. She was later taken to R Adams Cowley Shock Trauma in Baltimore. Police think Weedon shot her and ran away. Detectives continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding Weedon getting shot. He was found by officers in the area of Springfield Lane. Both Weedon and Wilkerson were in good condition Tuesday, Keckler said. Weedon faces charges of attempted first-degree murder, first-degree assault, reckless endangerment and a handgun violation. He will go before a District Court Commissioner to determine bail when he is medically cleared.
