The Great Frederick Fair | Media Core program

The Great Frederick Fair student reporters who participated in this year's Media Core program experienced "fun, yet intense at times," but they all made their deadlines, said Susan Summers, fair assistant. More than 60 students from four local high schools participated this year in covering the fair's daily events in both print and broadcast. In the video broadcast category, awards were given to Drew Edwards, Brennan Kerr and Eric Looney for best footage; Jack Hanrahan, Zack Cohen and Katelyn Keller for best editing; and Luke Marrone, Katelyn Keller and George Thompkins for best report. Awards in the print category were given to Doug Wampler of Frederick High School for best photo; Nada Elbasha and Matt Baretta of Frederick High School for best story; and Linganore and Tuscarora high schools for best layout of the fair's daily newsletter. From left, Frederick News-Post publisher Myron Randall, along with Great Frederick Fair administrators Brenda Main and Becky Brashear, present an award Friday to Keller at The Great Frederick Fair.
