Thurmont -- Carlos Deandre had two goals for Brunswick and Drew Demich had one in the Railroaders' 3-0 win over Catoctin on Thursday.

Gin Sum had an assist for the Railroaders. Drew Howard recorded the shutout with two saves. Ben Tylicki had 13 saves for Catoctin.

Brunswick also won the junior varsity match, 4-1.

Kevin Ruzbacki, Wayne Craig and Richie Reyes each had a goal for Tuscarora (8-1, 2-1 MVAL-Piedmont). Quinn Meehan had two assists for the Titans, while Reyes had one.

Sean Best recorded the shutout with three saves. Zachary Jacobsen had seven saves for Frederick .

Thurmont -- Tuscarora's Maddy Borek scored an unassisted goal at the 17:21 mark of the second half, putting the Titans in front to stay. Sandy Marin had Tuscarora's other goal, assisted by Tara Woodward.

Catoctin's Alison Benjamin scored a goal, assisted by Morgan Cole. Amanda Kline had 14 saves for Catoctin (2-5).

Catoctin won the JV game, 5-0.

Walkersville 5, Frederick 1

Walkersville -- Katie Kershner had two goals for Walkersville (2-4). Ashleigh Kassab, Chelsea Young and Julie Little each had one. Young had two assists.

Urbana -- Molly Stuart scored the deciding penalty stroke in the tie-breaker for Urbana (5-2), which has won four straight. Gina Smarrelli scored Urbana 's regulation goal on an assist from Sara Thacker.

Caitlyn Higdon and Jessica Thompson combined for the win in goal with five saves.

Francis Scott Key won the junior varsity game, 1-0.

Poolesville 7, Wheaton 0

POOLESVILLE -- Katelyn Scott led Poolesville (6-0) with two goals. Amy Defnet recorded the shutout.
