Pryor loses decision
in Madison Square Garden
NEW YORK -- Frederick 's Larry Pryor lost a unanimous four-round decision to former Olympican Carlos Negron in a light-heavyweight match at Madison Square Garden on Saturday night.
Negron remained unbeaten with the win while Pryor is 4-5.
"I went out there and put up a good fight," Pryor said. "I almost knocked him out in the fourth. It wasn't one of those bad losses. It proved I could stick around with a guy like that."
Pryor said that Negron won the first and third rounds. Prior said he hit him with some shots that hurt him in the third round and kept a lot of pressure on him in the fourth.
"I hit him with a lot of punches (in the fourth), but he ran from me," Pryor said.
Negron is a former Puerto Rican Olympian who fought in the 2008 Olympics.
The fight will be shown on HBO on Oct. 23, according to Pryor.
