Parent/Child Anger Management Group -- 7 to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 12, 19, 26. Free. Multi-week anger management group for parents and elementary school age children. This group, led by Carmen Turner, LCSW-C, will involve an interactive overview of anger management techniques, information and problem-solving skills. Pre-registration required.

Parenting Classes -- 6 to 8 p.m. Jan. 19 through March 9. Free. "Systematic Training for Effective Parenting" program is an effective, seven-session, planned training curriculum that focuses on topics important to parents today. Course provides valuable tools which improve communication among family members and lessen conflict. This course has been approved for court ordered or mandated attendance. Pre-registration required.

Free Legal Clinic -- 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Jan. 14 at Centro Hispano, St. John's Community Center, 114 E. Second St., Frederick. General legal advice including family law, immigration and naturalization. La Leche League of Frederick offers breast-feeding support and education -- Morning meeting at 9:45 a.m. second Wednesday of each month at the Monocacy Valley Church, 9861 Old National Pike, Ijamsville. Evening meeting at 7 p.m. the third Wednesday of each month at The Common Market Community Room, 5728 Buckeystown Pike, Frederick. Frederick County Division of Parks and Recreation will hold a Daddy Daughter Dance from 6 to 8:30 p.m. Feb. 6. Light refreshments will be served and photo opportunities will be available. An adult male must accompany his princess(es). Pre-registration required. Deadline to register is Jan. 29. Girls must be 4 to 12 years old. Cost is $40 per couple and $10 for each additional child. Frederick Country Day Montessori will offer a free Tales for Toddlers Program from 10:15 to 11 a.m. through May on the second and third Thursdays of the month. Program will include a story, craft, and playground time. Open to children 18 months through age 2, along with a parent or guardian. Call 301-694-7000 to register.

Victory Equine Center will offer free introductory riding lessons beginning at 1 p.m. every Sunday through March. Ms. Gaeta will discuss different learning styles and how to use Brain Gym to support a student's learning process. She will also discuss homework strategies. Event is free and open to the community.
