Rock in the Chester River

IT STARTED ON Wednesday. I had shot sporting clays in the morning at Pintail Point and stopped at our place in Grasonville to drop off some stuff for my wife. One of our neighbors, an occasional fisherman at best, told me he had been out for rockfish and had done very well. I swallowed the urge to ask who had taken him out. It didn't matter. The fact was that lots of people in our community were boxing lots of rockfish.

Red squirrels prefer pine forests

HAVE YOU EVER walked through a pine forest and seen a little red squirrel with a white belly perched at the end of a limb loudly "barking" at you? If so, you are looking at a red squirrel (Tamiasciurus hudsonicus).
