Gluten Free dessert Option: Melon and Apple Granita
Great way to satisfy your sweet tooth!

There is one thing about gluten-free eating that annoys me...besides no more pizza and beer.

It's the dessert options. There are some good ones out there, but when you are watching your wasitline and eating healthy, low-fat seems to be a mere wish for the gluten-free.

These days, I'm on a "cold" kick - as in, I NEED a good cold dessert at least once a week. Most frozen yogurts and ice creams are gluten free, but I really want to cut back on calories and fat (cause it's almost bikini season, y'all!) so I've been looking for an easy and healthy after-dinner treat.

I found it!

Check out the recipe for a Melon and Apple Granita here on the Eating Well website. It's easy, delicious and better than a flourless chocolate cake or a gluten-free cupcake - although those don't make me mad either.

Enjoy!
