Frederick-based Eduro Networks has expanded its broadband services into Washington County.Eduro offers speeds from 1.5 to 100 MB. Eduro Networks wireless broadband service are transmitted via towers in several areas throughout Washington County. Eduro has been serving business customers in Frederick County since 2003, but has grown dramatically since 2007 when they launched voice services. "We are thrilled to be in Washington County as there are very few choices for business broadband and the other broadband enabled services we offer," said T. Wesley Poss, Eduro's president and CEO. "We can offer not only choice, but scalable services with unbeatable prices," Poss said. Eduro began test marketing the service this summer and the response has been very strong from Washington area businesses, the company said. Eduro offers VoIP (Voice over Internet Protocol), remote data storage and managed firewall services. Glenn Braverman, a spokesman for Eduro, said the company does not plan to offer residential broadband services. The company does have a product that can be used in a smaller, home office that can support multiple PCs, phones and other web-enabled applications. "Our services benefit small to large businesses the most who have three or more on staff who work from desktops and require phone/data storage and security," he said. "We basically make small/mid businesses look and act like large businesses allowing them flexibility. Companies who really benefit are those with multiple locations, whether at homes/business and even other counties as we create virtual offices tied into our 'cloud.'"
