Environmental emergencies among topics for meeting

The Local Emergency Planning Committee will focus on responding to hazardous materials spills, chemical fires and other environmental disasters at its November meeting.

Set for 8:30 a.m. Nov. 9 at the Frederick County Law Enforcement Center, 110 Airport Drive East, the speaker will be Alan Williams.

Williams is manager, emergency response and planning program for the Maryland Department of the Environment. He will speak on dealing with environmental emergencies. The meeting is free and open to the public.
