Professionals in construction and related fields can work toward certification in Leadership in Energy Efficient Design (LEED) with courses at Frederick Community College.The colleges new green courses begin Monday with Weatherization Training for Crew Members. Other classes in November and December will include energy auditor technician and green advantage training. All classes meet at the Advanced Workforce Training Center, 200 Monroe Ave. Adding green certification could create or extend job opportunities for general or subcontractors, construction/project managers, architects, designers and engineers, according to a press release from the college. Other professionals who may benefit by learning more about trends and standards in green building include real estate developers, property owners and facility managers. Courses planned for the spring of 2010 include LEED accredited professional training in existing building operation and maintenance, building design and construction, residential design and construction, interior design and construction, and LEED green associate.
