Adventist Healthcare unveiled plans Friday for a $177 million, 86-bed hospital off Md. 121 in Clarksburg.The health care system presented a Certificate of Need proposal to the Maryland Health Care Commission on Friday as well. In addition to the hospital, the medical campus would include outpatient treatment facilities, doctors' offices, a child care center, a primary care clinic and a nursing center for seniors. In a prepared statement, the health care system said the proposed hospital would provide support for the growing areas of upper Montgomery and lower Frederick counties. The hospital would provide primary critical care for uninsured individuals. The hospital, which would share a 30-acre site with senior housing, could create as many as 1,000 jobs when construction is complete. The hospital, targeted for opening in late 2012 if approved, would follow green building codes and guidelines.
