How do I submit a press release for the paper?
Press releases can be faxed to 301-662-8299 or e-mailed to ewaters@fredericknewspost.com. We attempt to get as much news and information into the newspaper as possible, but we cannot guarantee publication of any information.
How can I submit community news/announcements for the paper?
The Community News page is intended for non-commercial use only. It is reserved for use by civic clubs, charitable organizations and other non-profit groups. Items should be submitted two weeks prior to the date of the event. Include a daytime phone number. Address announcements to: Community News, Frederick News-Post, P. O. Box 578, Frederick, MD, 21705. Fax items to 301-662-8299 or email community@fredericknewspost.com.
How do I submit a letter to the editor?

How do I submit an engagement/anniversary/wedding announcement for the newspaper?
Weddings, engagements and anniversaries are paid announcements. The Frederick News-Post is not responsible for content, but reserves the right to edit or revise content. The deadline for these announcements is 4:00 p.m. Monday for the following Sunday''s publication.

How do I submit a birth announcement for the newspaper?
We get the information about births directly from the local hospitals. To submit a birth from another hospital, call 301-662-1177 x261 or email community@newspost.com.
Obituary Submissions:
Obituaries are published daily in The Frederick News-Post and can be viewed online at www.fredericknewspost.com. We request that obituary information be submitted through the funeral home of record, however, alternatively, a family member may also submit obituaries. All information will be submitted in writing and confirmed before publication through the funeral home of record or anatomy board.
Prepayment is required unless there is an established billing account relationship; prepayment can be made most easily with a credit card or bank draft. Cost is $43 for up to 5 inches, plus $10.52 for each additional inch. Photos may be included, which measure 1.25" in print. Most local funeral homes have established billing relationships with us, and they are familiar with our procedures.
Obituaries received and processed before 4:30 p.m. will be published the following day, or on the day requested, after payment is confirmed. Information may be emailed to obituaries@fredericknewspost.com or faxed to 301-662-8299. For more information please call the Obituary desk at 301-662-1177 or 800-486-1177, extension 246 Monday-Friday from 8-5 p.m. After 5 p.m. and on weekends and holidays, call the same numbers but ask for the Editorial department, not extension 246.
Death Notices:
A simple Death Notice can be published in the paper at no charge. Death Notice information will include name, where the decedant resided, date of death, and funeral home of record.
Other Notices, Tributes and In Memoriam Announcements:
These announcements publish throughout the paper on the day requested, and are processed through the Classified Advertising department. Deadlines are noon, two business days before publication. Pricing is $25.00 per column inch.
Additionally, line ads are available as In Memoriam announcements, Card of Thanks or Death Notices, and are priced at $2.26/line, 3 line minimum.

How do I access past editions of the paper?
Items published on fredericknewspost.com since March 17, 1997 are in our online archives.
If you are looking for an article that was not published on the website or dates past March 17, 1997 contact our librarian at 301-662-1177 x260 for assistance.
You can also view past editions of the paper on microfilm at the main branch of the Frederick County Public Library.
How can I get a copy of a photo that was in the paper?

In person: Come to the receptionist''s desk in the front lobby of The Frederick News-Post building at 200 East Patrick Street and ask to speak to an advertising sales representative.

There are three ways to get your classified ad in our paper:

2. In person: Our classified department is located inside the main entrance of The Frederick News-Post building at 200 E. Patrick Street , at the corner of East Patrick and Carroll streets. Our lobby hours are 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
3. Through our Web site: All classified advertisements run both in our print edition and on our web site.
