MONROVIA: 20 families file $2.4 billion suit over water contamination

Lawyers for 20 Frederick County families have filed suit seeking $2.4 billion in damages over gasoline leaks from the Green Valley Citgo station in Monrovia that contaminated their groundwater, according to court documents.

The suit contends the 60 people listed as plaintiffs in the 33-page complaint were harmed by exposure to gasoline and other gasoline-related products leaked from the business at 11791 Fingerboard Road.

The Green Valley Citgo station is now a BP gas station, documents state.
