Mr. Jay Waravdekar

Jay Vaman Waravdekar, 43, died on Tuesday, June 23, 2009, in Riverside Regional Medical Center.Jay was born in Bethesda, and was an aerospace engineer with NASA. He was owner of ADG Architects Design Group. He was also was a member of American Pilots Association. Jay served in the U.S. Air Force during the Persian Gulf War. He was preceded in death by his father, Vaman S. Waravdekar and is survived by his wife, Michelle McKinney Waravdekar of Gloucester, Va.; his daughter, Blake Julianne Waravdekar of Gloucester; his mother, Mazie Duke Waravdekar of Frederick; brother, Dr. Neil Waravdekar and his wife, Anita, of Frederick; mother-in-law, Anna Stover of Gloucester; father-in-law, David McKinney of Union, Mo.; sisters-in-law, Kari Teer of Frisco, Texas, Jill Johnson and her husband, Luke, of Loveland, Colo. and Mandy Caligiuri and her husband, Mario, of Royse City, Texas; many nieces and nephews; and his special companions, Scout, Jazz, and Rocki. The family will receive friends from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Friday, June 26, at the funeral home. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, June 27, in Ebenezer Baptist Church. Burial will be in Bellamy Memorial Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to the Blake Julianne Waravdekar Education Fund, c/o Colonial Virginia Bank, P.O. Box 2120, Gloucester, VA 23061.
