Mr. Cyrus E. Wolf



Mr. Cyrus E. Wolf, 87, of Wolfsville, died Saturday, Oct. 24, 2009, at Fahrney-Keedy Home, Boonsboro.

Born Oct. 6, 1922, in Wolfsville, he was the son of the late Loy N. and Nettie F. Kline Wolf.

Cyrus was originally a member of St. James Reformed Church, Wolfsville, and then became a member of St. Mark's Lutheran Church, also in Wolfsville, where he served on various committees, was a member of the church choir and the hand bell choir. He was one of the founding members of The Wolfsville Volunteer Fire Company and was a Frederick County election judge for many years. A lifelong farmer in the Wolfsville area, he was known for his poultry and produce, and after 20 years of service Cyrus retired from Grove Manufacturing, Shady Grove, Pa.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Miriam C. Kepler Wolf, on Jan. 5, 1999.

Surviving Cyrus are three sons, Dale L. Wolf and his wife, Jeana, of Wolfsville, Charles E. Wolfe and his wife, Jeanne, of Middletown and Darrell W. Wolf and his wife, Ginny, also of Middletown; nine grandchildren, Kristen Wolf, Melissa Rollison and her husband, Sean, Joshua Wolf, Chase Wolf, Nick Wolf, Darren Wolf and his wife, Sadie, Stephanie Baldwin and her husband, Wyatt, Tara Wolf and Jonathan Wolf; three great-grandchildren, Blake Rollison, Madison Rollison and Whelen Baldwin; two sisters, Lorraine Leatherman and Dorothy Schroyer and her husband, Elvin, all of Middetown, and two brothers, Albert Wolf and his wife, Virginia, of Highland, and Woodrow Wolf and his wife, Ann, of Wolfsville.

Preceding Cyrus in death were three sisters, Josie Michael, Rachel Beall and Virginia Warrenfeltz; and two brothers, Nelson Wolf and Maurice Wolf.

Funeral services will begin at 11 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 29, at St. Mark's Lutheran Church, Wolfsville, with Pastor David Howell officiating.

Burial will be in the adjoining church cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 28, at Ricketts Funeral Home, 504 Main St., Myersville. For the convenience of friends and family, the funeral home will be open for visitation beginning at 2 p.m. Wednesday.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to St. Mark's Lutheran Church, P. O. Box 13, Myersville, MD 21773.
