Mrs. Beverly Sue Cole



Beverly Sue Cole, 68, of Jonesville, Va., passed away on Tuesday, Oct. 27, 2009, at Wellmont Holston Valley Hospital in Kingsport, Tenn.

Beverly was born on Friday, July 11, 1941, in Flatwoods Community of Lee County, Va.

She retired from Newspaper Publishing in Silver Springs and had lived in Lee County the past five years. Beverly was a member of the Flatwoods Methodist church from her early years.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Thurman and Estell Taylor Hounshell; and three brothers, Roy, Eugene and Bill Hounshell.

She is survived by her husband, Elza Cole of home; two sons, Richard and wife, Linda Cole, of Mount Airy and Ronnie and wife, Glenda Cole, of Frederick; one daughter, Brenda Cole Stangeland and husband, Scott, of Harpers Ferry, W.Va.; two brothers, Beverly's twin brother -- Banard Hounshell and wife, Gloria, -- and Wayne Hounshell and wife, Alice, both of Jonesville, Va.; two sisters, Wilma Barefoot and husband, Russell, of Mount Airy and Joann Simms of Florida; two grandchildren, Hannah Frey and husband, Lou, of Sykesville and Richard Cole of Mount Airy; one great-granddaughter, Eliza Ruth Cissel; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services for Beverly will be held at 8 p.m. Friday, Oct. 30, in the Sanctuary of the Province Funeral Home in Jonesville, Va., with Fred Cagle Officiating. Visitation will be from 6 p.m. until time of service. Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 31, at Ewing-McClure Cemetery. Family and friends are asked to meet at 10:15 a.m. at the funeral home to go to the cemetery. Nephews will serve as pallbearers.
