Ms. Bobbi Jo Delphey Barber



Ms. Bobbi Jo "Bird" Delphey Barber, 39, passed away suddenly on Thursday, Oct. 29, 2009, at her home in Ortanna, Pa.

Born Dec. 15, 1971, in Baltimore, she was the daughter of Robert and Louann West Delphey of Thurmont. She is survived by her love and partner, Rob Barber.

Bobbi Jo was an outgoing, kind and caring person to all who knew her. Once you met her, you were instantly pulled toward her beautiful spirit and larger-than-life smile.

She was a 1989 graduate of Catoctin High School, where she excelled in many sports and school activities. She also attended Hagerstown Community College. She was the owner and entrepreneur of Crossroad Grill and Catering in Cashtown, Pa. Bobbi Jo enjoyed organizing community events, coaching her children's teams and spending time at home with her loving family. She was a loving, great mother and enjoyed many family trips to Raystown Lake.

She will be sadly missed by many special friends, employees and faithful customers.

Surviving in addition to her parents and Rob, are her children, twins, Ashley Ann and Amanda Jane, Andrea Mae, Justin Bryant and Caroline Annette Barber; one brother, Mike Delphey and wife, Jonelle, of Blue Ridge Summit, Pa.; and four nieces, Karleena, Madisyn, Mycah and Machia Delphey. Additionally she is survived by many aunts, uncles and cousins.

She also leaves behind her beloved pet dog, Cid.

She was preceded in death by her great-grandmother, Pauline R. Zimmerman; her grandmothers, Mary J. Welty and Norma T. West; and a special uncle, Tommy West.

The family will receive friends from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 1, at Robert E. Dailey & Son Funeral Homes, P.A., 615 E. Main St., Thurmont. She will lie in repose from 10 to 11 a.m. Monday, Nov. 2, at Evangelical Bible Church, 14698 Albert Staub Court, Thurmont. Funeral services will follow at 11 a.m. at the church with the Rev. Jonathan Laye and the Rev. Kenneth Reed officiating. Interment will be in Monocacy Church of the Brethren Cemetery, Rocky Ridge.
