Mrs. Mary Louise Clabaugh

Mrs. Mary Louise Clabaugh passed away peacefully, Saturday, Oct. 31, 2009, at her home in Foxville, after a 29-year battle with cancer.Born July 28, 1945, and raised in Foxville, Mary Louise was the daughter of the late Robert Hunter and Minnie Nora (DeLauter) McAfee. Mary Louise attended primary and secondary schools in Foxville and Thurmont. She was a lifelong member of Mt. Moriah Lutheran Church in Foxville, a past member of the Frederick County Sheep Breeder's Association and Maryland Wool Festival Committee, and a past volunteer with the Frederick County 4-H programs. Mary Louise enjoyed gardening in her many gardens, raising sheep, draft horses and border collies, taking trips to Chincoteague and the beach with her family and friends, and collecting antiques. Mary Louise was a compassionate, loving and courageous person who enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. Mary Louise is survived by her loving husband of 36 years, Robert L. Clabaugh; four daughters, Brenda L. Shilling of Foxville, Tracie Clabaugh Weaver and husband, Christopher, of New Market, Va., Carrie Clabaugh McClain and husband, Adam, of Woodward, Okla., and Laura L. Clabaugh of Foxville and friend, Ben Hillis; three grandchildren, Aaron Shilling, Nora Katherine Weaver and Madeline Louise McClain; her "special" grandchildren, Carolina and Ella McDonald; two brothers, Robert McAfee and James McAfee, both of Foxville; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. She will be remembered by forever devoted lifetime friends, Joan Horman of Frederick, Glenda Etzler of Union Bridge, Dorothy Smith, Jennifer McDonald, Charlotte Shaffer of Frederick and the late Madeline Frushour. The family will receive friends from 6 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at Stauffer Funeral Home, 104 E. Main St., Thurmont. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 5, at Mt. Moriah Lutheran Church, Foxville, with Pastor Julie Brigham officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery where serving as pallbearers will be Adam McClain, Ben Hillis, Tim McAfee, Matt Bowman, Justin Horman and Drew Horman. Honorary bearers will be Aaron Shilling and Christopher Weaver. Memorial contributions may be made in her memory to Mt.
