Mrs. Joy Fay Gilson, 57, of Crisfield, formerly of Frederick, died Thursday, Oct. 29, 2009, at Peninsula Regional Medical Center in Salisbury.Born in Crisfield on Aug. 12, 1952, she was a daughter of Myrtle Culbertson Harris of Crisfield and the late Melvin Harris Sr. A graduate of Crisfield High School Class of 1970, she was a homemaker and a member of Trinity United Methodist Church in Frederick. Fay enjoyed arts and crafts and especially flower arranging. She also loved plants, family photos, and her dogs, Tyson and Barbie. In addition to her mother, Myrtle Harris, she is survived by her husband, Ronald L. Gilson of Frederick; two daughters, Ashley and Haylee Gilson of Crisfield; two stepdaughters, Melanie Wendel and her husband, Matt, of Ennis, Texas, and Tara Ketteringham and her husband, Mike, of Frederick; her aunt, Peggy Culbertson of Crisfield; her brothers and sisters, Melvin Harris Jr. and his wife, Donna, Donna Hickman, Carol Howard, and Tommy Harris and his wife, Dawn, all of Crisfield; six stepgrandchildren, Nicole, Lori and Jessica Phillips, Ellie Wendel and Quinn and Peri Ketteringham; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 5, at Bradshaw and Sons Funeral Home in Crisfield where friends may call one hour prior.
