Mrs. Patsy F. Smith

Mrs. Patsy F. Smith, 71, of Mount Airy, died on Saturday, Oct. 31, 2009, at Frederick Memorial Hospital. She was the wife of Charles Edward Smith.Born on Jan. 13, 1938, in Taylorsville, she was the daughter of the late Harry W. and Helen Harne Frizzell. Patsy owned and operated Smith Meat Processing with her husband. She had also worked for Olde Town Restaurant and Westminster Knit. She enjoyed playing cards and going to auctions with her husband. Patsy was an animal lover and enjoyed and loved her cats. Surviving in addition to her husband are five sisters, Eloise Wooden of Mount Airy, Arta Gartrell of Taylorsville, Dorothy Gosnell of Mount Airy, Joan Smith of Sykesville and Vivian Hann of New Windsor; and one brother, Hershel "Bud" Frizzell of Wake, Va. She was preceded in death by one sister, Yvonne Ripley and four brothers, Truman, Horace, Paul and Harry "Newts" Frizzell. Friends may call from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 5, at Stauffer Funeral Home, 8 E. Ridgeville Blvd., Mount Airy, where funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Nov. 6. The Rev. Wallace Lusk will officiate. Interment will follow in Lakeview Memorial Park, Sykesville.
