Roland Everett "Ron" Pearman, 72, of Ijamsville, died Monday, Nov. 2, 2009, at his residence. He was the husband of Donna Henderson Pearman, whom he married in 1980.

Born Aug. 30, 1937, in San Diego, Calif., he was a son of the late Ralph E. and Edith Fortner Pearman.

Ron retired from the U.S. Navy after 20 years of service. He was a veteran of the Vietnam War. He was a member of VFW Post 3285 for many years and held the quartermaster position for seven or eight years. He also was a 32nd- degree Mason and a member of the Shriners. He was an avid golfer at the VFW and supported many Vietnam veterans organizations, including the Wounded Warrior Project.

Surviving are his wife, Donna, at home; four children, Vickie Martin, Steve and Lisa Pearman and Rick Pearman, all of California, and Patty Campbell of Tennessee; six grandchildren, Stephanie Martin, Chris Martin, Tim Martin, Nick Pearman and Alyssa Pearman, all of California, and Mike McGowan of Tennessee; two sisters, Carolyn Ross and Peggy Cash, both of California; and two brothers, Ralph Pearman of Texas and Donald Pearman of Oregon. In-laws include Mike and Linda Henderson of Virginia, Sandy Dugan, Sean and Jennifer Henderson, Kevin Schwab, and Brianna and Meghan Henderson, all of Ijamsville; and James Alexander Henderson of Spain.

There will be no visiting or calling at Robert E. Dailey & Son Funeral Homes, P.A., 1201 N. Market St., Frederick.

Arrangements are private and at the convenience of the family.

Memorial donations may be made in Ron's name to the VFW Post 3285, 5901 Old National Pike, Frederick, MD 21702.
