Mrs. Roxanne Shoemaker Culler



Mrs. Roxanne Shoemaker Culler, 57, of Frederick, died Wednesday, Nov. 4, 2009, at her home. She was the wife of Michael T. Culler.

Born Oct. 10, 1952, in Frederick, she was the daughter of the late Woodrow W. and Helen Virginia Virts Witmer.

Mrs. Culler was lifelong resident of Frederick and was a graduate of Gov. Thomas Johnson High School, class of 1970. She enjoyed antiquing, gardening and collecting ceramic roosters. Most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her family. Her family was first and foremost in her heart. She also had a place in her heart for animals of all kinds.

Surviving in addition to her husband, Mike, are her three children, Jason S. Shoemaker and wife, Lisa, of Hagerstown, Angela J. Wimer and husband, Ian, of Frederick, and Tyler J. Shoemaker of Frederick; one grandson, Ethan R. Shoemaker of Hagerstown; her father-in-law, Bernard Culler; her two brothers, Harry L. and John W. Witmer, both of Frederick; her four sisters, Nancy F. Hargett and Harriet L. Perkins of Frederick, Judith A. Gilbert of West Virginia and Betty J. Pheobus of Upper Marlboro. She is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Culler was preceded in death by her first husband, Craig E. Shoemaker; a sister, Joyce J. Shanholtzer; and a brother, James D. Witmer.

Visitation with will be from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday, Nov. 9, at Keeney and Basford, P.A., Funeral Home, 106 E. Church St., Frederick.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 10, at St. Luke's Lutheran Church, Feagaville. Pastor Samuel L. Woolcock will officiate. Interment will be in Mount Olivet Cemetery, Frederick.
