Mrs. Sarah Ruffin DiShino, 77, of Thurmont, died Wednesday, Oct. 28, 2009, at Frederick Memorial Hospital. Prior to moving to Thurmont in 2000, Mrs. DiSchino lived for many years in Greenwood, Miss.Born May 16, 1932, in Greenville, Miss., she was the daughter of the late John and Vallie Ruffin. Mrs. DiSchino was a member of Harriet Chapel, Catoctin Furnace. Mrs. DiSchino is survived by her son, John R. Tackett and wife, Julia, of Thurmont; a sister, Dorothy Yarbrough of Birmingham, Ala.; and her grandchildren, David Tackett of Thurmont, DiAnne Tackett of Middletown and Ian Rinehart of Thurmont. Arrangements in Maryland were by Keeney and Basford, P.A., Funeral Home, Frederick. Arrangements in Mississippi were by Boone Card Funeral Home, Indianola, Miss. A private viewing for family members took place at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 3, at Boone Card Funeral Home. At 11 a.m. friends and family gathered at Moorhead, Miss., Cemetery for a brief service and interment, conducted by the Very Rev. Julia Moore. A memorial service celebrating Mrs. DiSchino's life will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 15, at Harriet Chapel, 12625 Catoctin Furnace Road, Thurmont. ×PaperDate 11/7/09
