Mrs. Ella Hickerson Lewis

Mrs. Ella Hickerson Lewis, 92, of Frederick, died Thursday, Nov. 5, 2009, at Citizens Nursing Center. She was the wife of the late Bloyce C. Lewis, who died in 1986.Born May 11, 1917, in Rockville, she was a daughter of the late Lindsay R. and Clara Hickerson Hickerson. Mrs. Lewis was a member of the First Baptist Church of Frederick, the Homemakers Class at the church, the church choir, the Frederick Literary Council and the Frederick Senior Citizens. She was an avid reader. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. Surviving are three sons, John Cooper Lewis of Frederick, Richard L. Lewis and wife, Janis A., of Savannah, Ga., and Ted G. Lewis and wife, Deborah, of Charles Town, W.Va.; four grandchildren, Melissa L. Lewis Blazek and husband, Drew, Ted G. Lewis Jr., Benjamin D. Lewis and Jennifer R. Williams; and a great-grandson, Nickolas A. Williams. She was preceded in death by three sisters and a brother. There will be no visiting or calling at Robert E. Dailey & Son Funeral Homes, P.A., 1201 N. Market St. A graveside service and interment will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, Nov. 9, at Mount Olivet Cemetery, with the Rev. Burnis Barrett officiating. Those wishing to attend are asked to assemble inside the gates by 10:45 a.m. at the FSK Chapel.
