Man stabbed in downtown Frederick A man was stabbed several times early Saturday while walking in downtown Frederick , according to a Frederick Police Department press release. The stabbing occurred shortly before 2:30 a.m. near Third and North Market streets, police said.
The man's injuries, though serious, are not believed to be life-threatening, according to the press release. He was taken to Frederick Memorial Hospital, then flown to R Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore, police said.
No witnesses or suspects have been identified. Police would like anyone with information to call Sgt. J.P. Hayer at 301-600-1265.

Mailboxes vandalized
Mailboxes were destroyed Friday night and early Saturday in Knoxville and Petersville, according to a Maryland State Police press release. The vandalism occurred on Rosemont Drive and Petersville and Souder roads. Anyone with information should call Trooper First Class H. Leggett at 301-600-4150.

Man assaulted, robbed
A man was beaten and robbed Saturday after agreeing to lend a small amount of cash to two people he recognized from the apartment complex where he lives, according to a Frederick Police Department press release.
At about 2 p.m., Officer Mike Conover responded to a call about a man who was bleeding from the face. The victim, a 49-year-old Hispanic man, told Conover he had been walking in the area when he was approached by a black man and a black woman who asked to borrow money, the release stated. He said he recognized the two from the neighborhood and agreed. The two lured the man into the stairway of Building G at the Elmwood Terrace Apartments and then punched and kicked him. During the assault, the victim was robbed of cash and property. The robbery was interrupted by a resident in the building and the attackers ran away.
The victim suffered minor injuries but refused medical attention.

Police arrest suspect in July 13 assault
Frederick Police Department officers on Saturday arrested a suspect in a July 13 assault and robbery at the MARC station at 100 S. East St., according to a department press release.
The victim, a 32-year-old woman, told responding officers two women hit her in the head with a rock and took money from her pants pocket.
Investigating officer Kacie Keesecker identified one suspect as a black juvenile who was not immediately located.
On Saturday, Cpl. Adam Armstrong and Keesecker found the girl in the 100 block of West South Street in Frederick . She was taken into custody and later placed in a juvenile facility in Laurel by the Department of Juvenile Justice.

Round 2: Snow expected to fall today, Wednesday
Fast on the heels of the largest 24-hour snowfall to hit the Frederick County since 1983, meteorologists are predicting another round of heavy snow and wind to hit today.
The National Weather Service issued a winter storm warning Monday afternoon for the area, including Frederick County, and said 10 to 20 inches of snow is possible by Wednesday night.

Crowds pay respect to fallen marine
Even U.S. Marines couldn't hold back tears Monday at the viewing of their colleague, Sgt. David Smith.
The procession to the Frederick Christian Fellowship Church was led by Frederick County Sheriff's deputies. Dressed in full military regalia, Marines carried Smith's casket into the church followed by family members as more Marines stood at attention.
