Man arrested in attempted break-in

A Frederick man was arrested after he tried to kick in a door of a residence in the Windsor Garden Apartments off Key Parkway, according to the Frederick Police Department.

Patrol officers were walking in the area about 2:30 a.m. Friday when they were called to the apartment, police said. The man, later identified as Kyle Donte Twyman, 24, ran when he realized police had been called. Police searched the area, Twyman was found at the Giant on West Patrick Street.

Twyman was charged with destruction of property over and under $500, third- and fourth-degree assault, police said.

2 killed in Carroll County plane crash

Two Maryland residents were killed in a plane crash Saturday morning in northwestern Carroll County, police said.

The victims, a man and a woman, were identified by Maryland State Police as Robert H. Kociemba, 61, of the 700 block of St. George-Barber Road in Davidson, and Letty Williams, 66, of the 3800 block of Glebe Meadow Way in Edgewater.

Kociemba is believed to have been the pilot, police said.

Both were pronounced dead at the scene by the Taneytown Volunteer Fire Department.

At about 7:30 a.m. Saturday, Maryland state troopers were dispatched to the area of Sharrett Road, just off Md. 194 in Keymar, for the report of an aircraft crash.

Troopers found the two-seat aircraft crashed in a cornfield, about a quarter mile from the Keymar Airpark, a privately owned airstrip southwest of Taneytown, officials said.

A preliminary investigation indicates the victims took off from the airpark just minutes before the crash. Their destination was unknown.
