Police: Crack fell out of pants

A traffic stop on Sunday ended in a drug arrest when a large quantity of crack cocaine fell out of a man's pants, the Frederick Police Department reports.

Officers with the Drug Enforcement Unit were patrolling at Willowdale Drive and Shookstown Road about 5 p.m. when they saw a vehicle make several illegal maneuvers, police said.

The officers stopped the driver and, after speaking to him, they called for a K-9 unit which smelled drugs in the car, police said.

A passenger, Joseph Snouffer Geisbert, 26 of Stratford Way in Frederick , was making furtive movements inside the car, police said, so officers patted him down. During the pat-down, a large quantity of crack cocaine fell out of his pants onto the ground.

Geisbert was arrested and charged with possession and possession with intent to distribute crack cocaine. He was taken to the Frederick County Adult Detention Center to appear before the District Court Commissioner.

The driver, whom police did not name, received a traffic citation and was released.

Deputy tasers man after chase

FAIRPLAY -- A Boonsboro man faces multiple charges after leading a deputy on a high speed chase, ramming his patrol car and being shot by a Taser early Saturday, according to the Washington County Sheriff's Office.

Deputy Ryan Socks spotted a northbound pick-up truck on Md. 65 near Lappans Road about 12:15 a.m., the sheriff's office said. Socks clocked the truck on radar going 91 miles per hour in a 40 mph zone.

The driver refused to stop, turning west on Lappans Road, then south on Reichard Road where Socks clocked the truck going 80 mph in a 35 mph zone and the driver turned off his headlights to avoid detection, the sheriff's office said.

At Reichard and Spielman roads, the truck stopped, then suddenly backed up and rammed the front of Socks' patrol car, damaging but not disabling the vehicle, officials said.

Socks followed the truck, a 2001 Ford F-350, to a private driveway in the 7600 block of Fairplay Road, where it stopped.

Socks ordered the driver, Allen William Smith, 45, of Sharpsburg Pike, to get out and lie on the ground. Smith refused and began walk away. Socks shot Smith with his Taser and Smith fell to the ground. He was then arrested.

Smith had two Xanax tablet which he had no prescription for, officials said.

Smith was charged with fleeing and eluding, leaving the scene of an accident, driving under the influence of alcohol, possession of CDS and CDS paraphernalia, malicious destruction of property and second-degree assault.

He posted $25,000 bail and was released pending trial.
