An overwhelming demand for flu vaccine has exhausted supplies of flu vaccine, and the Frederick County Health Department has canceled three October seasonal flu clinics. However, the department has not received all the vaccine it ordered, according to a press release. Additional supplies are expected in November, when the Health Department will schedule additional clinics. The October clinics were to be held on the 22, 23 and 27.
According to the press release, a limited amount of seasonal FluMist vaccine remains available for free to children ages 5 to 11.
Appointments for that vaccination can be made by calling 301-600-3342. Information on flu clinics and vaccine availability can be found at www.frederickcountymd.gov/fluclinics.
