BALTIMORE -- A 32-year-old Frederick man has been sentenced to three years in federal prison on drug charges stemming from a search of his residence in spring 2007, the U.S. Attorney's Office said Wednesday.

U.S. District Court Judge Catherine C. Blake placed Brett Christopher Diggs on three years of supervised release after he completes his prison sentence for conspiracy to distribute 500 or more grams of cocaine, spokeswoman Marcia Murphy said. Diggs was arrested in March 2007 after members of the Frederick Police Department searched his home in the 7000 block of Hames Court, police said at the time.

Police found a kilogram of cocaine during the search. Police put the value of the drugs seized at about $100,000. Federal authorities took over prosecution of the case.
