Thomas Johnson and Urbana picked up the first and second seeds, respectively, in Class 4A North of the regional volleyball playoffs, which begin Thursday.The Patriots host the winner of the Westminster-Woodlawn first-round match Monday. The Hawks host Kenwood at 6 p.m. Monday, also in a quarterfinal match. First-round matches are tentatively scheduled for Thursday. In Class 3A West, Frederick hosts Northwood in a first-round match and Linganore plays at Kennedy. Middletown and Walkersville host first-round matches. The Knights host Rockville and the Lions host South Carroll. There are no first-round playoff matches in Class 1A North. All teams begin play in the quarterfinals Monday. Catoctin and Brunswick are on the road in the 1A quarterfinals. The Cougars play at Loch Raven; the Railroaders play at Pikesville.
