Girls Soccer Playoffs

Class 4A North Semifinal

TJ 4, Perry Hall 1

New Market -- Natallie Dold had a hat trick with one assist for Thomas Johnson (9-5-2), which plays at Urbana at 6 p.m. Tuesday, for the regional championship.

Monica Omelchenko had one goal for the Patriots. Abbie Niehoff recorded 14 saves for TJ.

Class 1A North Semifinal

Catoctin 1, Manchester Valley 0

Thurmont -- Cheyenne Ganley scored an unassisted goal for Catoctin. Caroline Grossweiler recorded the shutout with three saves.

The Cougars play for the regional championship Tuesday.

Class 2A West Semifinal

Winters Mill 3, Middletown 1

WESTMINSTER -- Megan Pritts scored off a corner kick from Alycia Giauque for Middletown (12-3). Nikki Frushour had seven saves for the Knights.

Volleyball Playoffs

Class 3A West, First Round

Quince Orchard 3, Tuscarora 2

Scores: 25-21, 25-13, 25-30, 21-25, 15-8. Tuscarora ends its season at 4-10.

Men's Soccer

Monmouth 3, MSM 1

WEST LONG BRANCH, N. J. -- Chris Wheeler scored Mount St. Mary's goal on an assist from Scott Phinith. Chris Davis had two saves for the Mount (6-10-1, 5-4-1 Northeast Conference).

Men's Basketball

Goodwill Tip-Off Tournament

TCI 105, FCC 84

Alex Jackson led Frederick Community College in the season-opener with 22 points and seven rebounds. Q'Monte Metheny had 10 points with four assists for the Cougars, who play Potomac State in the consolation game at 1 p.m. today.
