  • Photo of stolen motorcycle released

Maryland State Police have released a photograph of a special edition Harley-Davidson motorcycle, a Springer Screaming Eagle, stolen March 25 from a parking lot at the Francis Scott Key Mall.

The gold and tangerine motorcycle is valued at about $30,000; only 2,000 of that particular model sold in 2007, Trooper First Class Gary Martin said.

The motorcycle was stolen between 3 and 4 p.m. from the parking lot of the Sears Automotive Center.

The motorcycle belongs to Bradley Gleason of Walkersville , Martin said. It has about 1,800 miles on the odometer.

The motorcycle also has chrome parts and an altered rear suspension. A chrome half helmet was attached to the handlebars when the motorcycle was reported stolen, Martin said.

Anyone with information should call Martin at 301-600-4151.

Damage and rummaging lead to charges

A Frederick man was arrested Saturday after he damaged a gate and rummaged through a car in the 5000 block of Croydon Terrace, according to the Frederick County Sheriff's Office.

A deputy was called to the area, near Tuscarora Elementary School, about 5:50 a.m. after a resident heard sounds at her door while she was watching television, deputies said. The resident saw a man, later identified as Gregory P. Mayo, 19, kick her home's entrance gate and rummage through her vehicle.

Mayo was found about a half-hour later at a nearby pool, deputies said. Alcohol was a factor in the case.

The damage to the gate was estimated at $300 and nothing was taken from the vehicle, deputies said.

Mayo was charged with fourth-degree burglary, rogue and vagabond and malicious destruction of property less than $500, authorities said. He was taken to the Frederick County Adult Detention Center and released on personal recognizance.

A May 20 court date has been set.
