Bike safety rodeo today
A free Bike Safety Rodeo will be held from noon to 4 p.m. today at Parkway Elementary School, 300 Carroll Parkway.

Anyone who can ride a bike is invited to attend. Parents may bring their children with bikes and helmets anytime between noon and 4 p.m. Loaner helmets will be available.

Fall Fun Day at Friends Meeting School
Friends Meeting School, 3232 Green Valley Road in Ijamsville, will hold its annual Fall Fun Day from 2 to 6 p.m. today.
Scheduled activities include carnival games, hay and pony rides, a pumpkin patch, a gourd launch, a moon bounce and a petting zoo. Live music will be played throughout the event, and food will be available for purchase. Pie-eating and seed-spitting contests will be held. New this year is a family fun run.
In past years, inclement weather canceled the festivities. This year, in the case of rain, the event -- minus the pony rides, organizers said -- will move inside the new, 21,000-square-foot high school building.
Admission to this family-friendly event is free. For information, visit the Quaker-based school's website, www.friendsmeetingschool.org.

This event is sponsored by the Peace and Social Concerns Committee of Friends Meeting and Women In Black Frederick . A light lunch will be served, and Zoya will discuss the work of RAWA and the effects of U.S. military intervention in her country.
