Two weeks after his co-conspirator was ordered to spend six months in jail, a Frederick County Circuit Court judge sentenced a 22-year-old Frederick man with a criminal record to seven years in the Maryland Division of Correction, authorities said.

Friday, two months before Terrance E. Allen was set to go on trial in a July 18 robbery, Allen pleaded guilty to conspiracy to commit robbery with Valencia N. Arroyo, 20, of Frederick , Deputy State's Attorney David R. Callahan said.

According to court testimony, investigators with the Frederick Police Department learned the victim of the 2 p.m. robbery was an acquaintance of Arroyo's.

The victim was punched and kicked in an apartment complex hallway and robbed of his cash, wallet and cell phone, Callahan said.

Judge Julie Stevenson Solt cited Arroyo's lack of a prior criminal record in suspending all but six months of a seven-year sentence. Upon her release, Arroyo is prohibited from having contact with Allen while on three years of supervised probation.

But Allen has a criminal history that includes convictions for second-degree assault, possession of marijuana and disorderly conduct on top of his new conviction for conspiracy to commit robbery, according to court documents.
