About Captain Shirley Thacker Bauman: I’m a battalion aero-medical physician assistant with 159th AVN. I have the pleasure of taking care of my fellow soldiers within our aviation community. In addition, I’m also responsible for MEDEVAC missions. That requires picking up patients at the point of injury and providing critical life saving care to both US soldiers and local nationals; and providing inter-facility air transport to higher levels of care for very sick patients. I have one of the best jobs in the world, taking care of the very best, our own.
