In an action separate from lawsuits, the Maryland General Assembly issued a law requiring all police agencies to collect racial data for all traffic stops not involving radar or other technology.

MSP and plantiffs reached a court-sanctioned agreement that requires MSP to develop a complaint hotline number, give drivers a brochure outlining how stops are conducted and who to contact if they have complaints, and to develop polices to combat racial profiling. The second lawsuit is continuing.
