Joey Penn tallied the golden goal in the Hawks' 1-0 win over Broadneck in the Class 4A state semifinals last week.

Penn's goal, which came in the 54th minute, was all Urbana needed to advance to the program's first-ever state final. After Penn's goal, the Hawks pulled together to stanch the Bruins en route to the final match.

Urbana takes on Whitman at 7:30 p.m. Friday at UMBC.

Penn ranks among the leaders in the county in scoring this season.

Aaran Parry, a freshman at THS, had a goal and an assist in the Titans' 2-0 win over Huntingtown in the Class 3A State semifinals on Saturday.

Her hat trick in the regional championship a few days earlier against Quince Orchard allowed her to break a team single-season scoring record as a freshman. Heading into the state final, Parry has racked up 22 goals this year.

Tuscarora faces Reservoir in the Class 3A title match at 5 p.m. Thursday at UMBC.
