Saturday at 2 p.m.

  • Thomas Johnson (5-4) at Frederick (4-5): This will be the 44th meeting between these city rivals with TJ holding a 28-15 advantage all-time. The Patriots need to win this game to ensure a fourth consecutive playoff trip. They hold the fourth and final spot in the Class 4A North playoffs with 56 accumulated points, which gives them a two-point lead over Perry Hall. Frederick , meanwhile, is hoping to snap a four-game losing streak to TJ. The Cadets beat South Hagerstown, 41-6, on the road last week, as sophomore receiver Jalen Gee set a school record for most receptions in one game and tied the record for receptions in a season. Gee finished the game with nine catches for 105 yards and four touchdowns. He has 57 receptions for the season.

    Friday at 7 p.m.

  • Walkersville (6-3) at Middletown (5-4): There's a lot riding on this game between two arch rivals. The winner will have a good shot of reaching the Class 2A West playoffs, while the loser will be eliminated. Also factoring into this game is the outcome of the game between Winters Mill and Westminster. Winters Mill only trails Walkersville by a point for the fourth and final spot in the region and the Falcons would pick up extra points with a win since Westminster is a 4A School. The Lions are coming off a 47-8 victory at Brunswick , while Middletown is looking to bounce back from a 35-28 loss at unbeaten Catoctin. Middletown has reached the playoffs in each of the last four seasons, while Walkersville hasn't played in the postseason since 2004.

  • Catoctin (9-0) at Brunswick (3-6): The Cougars are looking for their third straight win over Brunswick , which would cap their first undefeated season in 26 years. Catoctin will be the top seed in the Class 1A North playoffs, as the Cougars have close to 40 points more than any other team in the region. Last week, they pulled out a thrilling 35-28 home win over Middletown . Brunswick , meanwhile, is looking to put a positive ending on coach Patt Foster's second season on the job. The Railroaders have lost three in a row, including a 47-8 home loss to Walkersville last week. A win over Catoctin would change the way they feel about their season. The Cougars lead the series 20-19.

  • Riverdale Baptist (5-5) at Tuscarora (6-3): The Titans currently hold the fourth and final spot in the highly competitive 3A West region with 67 accumulated points thanks to last week's 27-24 victory at Urbana . A win over Riverdale Baptist would likely seal a second consecutive trip to the playoffs for Tuscarora. Quarterback Josh Marshall ran and threw for a score in a win over Urbana . Running back Matt Scott sealed the win with a 25-yard touchdown run in the fourth quarter. After being blown out at home by Thomas Johnson and Linganore in back-to-back weeks, the Titans put some real life back into their season. This will be their first meeting against Riverdale Baptist, which has won two straight games and three of its last four.

  • Silver Oak Academy (2-4) at MSD (8-1): After having an unplanned bye week due to the overall illness of a pair of opponents, the Orioles didn't appear to miss a beat in a 47-0 home win over Model last Saturday. Quarterback Todd Bonheyo threw for a pair of touchdowns, while Todd Rewolinski ran for two scores. MSD scored on five of its first seven possessions overall. The Orioles were originally scheduled to play 12 games this season. Next week, they travel to Riverside, Calif. to close the season against California School for the Deaf. Silver Oak Academy has won two of its last three, including a 16-0 home win over the Virginia Lions last week.

  • SJCP (2-7) at Spalding (8-1): Just as the Vikings snapped their five-game losing streak with a 40-0 home win over St. Frances, they face one of their toughest tests of the season against Spalding. The Cavaliers' only blemish of the season was a 20-0 loss at unbeaten Boys Latin on Oct. 23. Last week, they beat John Carroll on the road, 30-19. For the Vikings, LaMont Wims led the way last week. He found the end zone in three different ways. One scoring play was a 50-yard run, another was a 23-yard pass to DeShawn Weaver and the other was a 60-yard interception return, one of six turnovers the Vikings forced in the game. Wims finished the night with 246 rushing yards on 23 carries. He is hoping to end his junior season at SJCP on a similar high note.
