Hey everybody! I haven’t written a blog in a little while and a lot has happened! I’ll give you a quick overview of what has been going on with the Thomas Johnson Varsity Cheerleading team.
When I last wrote we were still in the process of creating a competition routine. Well, we finally got our routine completed — with music! — and have been running it over and over trying to fix anything that didn’t flow and cleaning some of the little things up.
It hasn’t been easy trying to get our routine completed because we have hit some speed bumps along the way.
On Saturday, with our routine finished, we thought everything was going to go good — just a day to practice, practice, practice the routine. But, we had to replace a couple of girls with alternates. It was hard on the team because we finally had confidence in our routine and we had to put alternates in hoping they would hit the routine just as well as the girls they replaced.
It was a good learning experience for the team in my opinion and it made us a better team because we started believing in each other and encouraging each other more. We all worked together teaching the alternates their spots and are so proud of them for stepping it up. The alternates have really proven they deserve their spot and I would like to thank them for giving it all they have!
We will see if all of our hard work and efforts have paid off. The Frederick County Fall Cheerleading Competition is tonight, Thursday, November 5th at 7pm at Governor Thomas Johnson High School.
If you get a chance, stop by and see all of the high school cheerleading talent. Good Luck to all of the teams! GO TJ! :)
