Frederick High's Jimmy Lanning put together an outing on the mound in the Class 3A state championship game that he likely won't forget for a long time.
Lanning tossed a three-hitter and struck out four en route to leading the Cadets to their first-ever state baseball crown with a 7-2 win over Fallston.
Lanning played a key role this season in helping Frederick win 20 of its 23 games, and when it counted most in the championship game at Ripken Stadium, he came through.
