Wonder 1: Sugarloaf Mountain - This mountain is very unique with its exposed quartz on top giving it the sugar crystal character European Explorers first noticed. The mountain is considered a national landmark and should be Frederick's #1 wonder.

Wonder 2: Middletown Valley - This valley is some of the most beautiful countyside on the east coast. Rolling hills, farms, and streams makes this vista #2 on the wonder list of Frederick.

Wonder 3: Mountain Sandwort - "This small, white-flowered plant was unknown in Maryland until discovered by a Maryland Natural Heritage Program ecologist in 1989. Mountain Sandwort, Minuartia glabra, flowers in July on open areas underlain by basalt or granite. The plant is scattered throughout the upper latitudes of the northern hemisphere, but this basalt glade on Catoctin Mountain is its only know location in Maryland, where it is listed as State Endangered. Finding and monitoring unique habitats and species, such as the Mountain Sandwort, are the primary responsibility of the Maryland Natural Heritage Program. This field work provides the basis for further research and protection efforts." © Copyright 1995-2004 Maryland Department of Natural Resources

Wonder 4: The Spite House - This house in downtown Frederick on West Church Street was built in the late 1700's. It was asked to be taken down so Record Street could continue to the north, but the house was kept standing out of "Spite" making it #4 on Frederick County's Wonder List.

Wonder 5: The Tasting Room - Mike did it right, the lobster chowder and filet mignon are the best I've had anywhere. The food and atomsphere are un-paralleled making this #5.

Wonder 6: The Rosebud Perfume Co. - This small company located in Woodsboro MD has been selling its products worldwide for years. I've seen it everywhere in the US and worldwide reminding me of Frederick County no matter where I go, making this #6.

Wonder 7: The Frederick Town Mall - How is this place still standing? That is the biggest wonder of all.
