Wonder 1: The Hessian Barracks - on the National Register of Sites sits on Clarke Place and Carroll St. (where Md. School for the Deaf also sits) The historic Barracks housed English soldiers & was used as a Revolutionary War prison. Its history also shows that it was a setting off point for many events, including setting up a Civil War hospital.
Wonder 2: Mt. Olivet Cemetery - it has many historic graves that go back into Frederick's History, including Francis SCott Key, barbara Fritchie and Md's first governor plus many old family plots (including my ancestors) whose graves were removed to there from the 1700's. It is a beautiful historic place to visit.
Wonder 3: Jug Bridge - its relevance to the history of Frederick and the Civil War is undeniable.
Wonder 4: Summers Family Cemetery, Ellerton, Fredreick Co. Md.
