Family and friends mourn Jarrel Gray

Anna Thomas, grandmother of Jarrel Gray, speaks to a large crowd gathered for a candlelight vigil celebrating the 20-year-olds life Tuesday evening near Jarrels home. Gray died Sunday following being struck by a Taser fired by police. From left are Gertrude Thompson, Jarrels great aunt; Thomas; Pastor Yolanda Gamble, Sure Fellowship Church; and Jeff Gray, Jarrels father.

Anna Thomas stood in the crisp autumn air Tuesday night clutching a candle to remember her grandson, who died Sunday within three hours of being shocked by a police Taser.

"This is the hardest thing I've ever had to say in my life right now," she said. "You know I don't know who the officer was who did this to my grandson, but I forgive you. My family forgives you."
